Welcome

Located within a century old stables courtyard right in the heart of South Belfast's University area, can be found the renowned Lawrence Street Workshops.  Conveniently situated within walking distance of Botanic Gardens, the Ulster Museum and Queens University.  It is a busy haven for local artists with bustling workshops and boasts an impressive showroom, which is open all year offering a diverse and fascinating range of two and three-dimensional crafts from paintings to furniture.  All of the works for sale are by local artists using traditional and contemporary skills, ensuring innovative design and high calibre workmanship.

A unique feature to the Lawrence Street Workshops is their fine range of recycled produce known as Upcycling!  Here you can find beautiful glasses made from wine bottles, Harvey's Bristol Cream turned into an elegant blue wine glass or Grolsch beer bottles made into tumblers.   You will also see some amazing pieces made from recycled plastic, using mobile phones, old wellie boots and coat hangers!

The Lawrence Street Workshops were informally established in 1989 by local artists and crafts people with creative business ideas to provide themselves with affordable workspaces in their own vicinity.  They have continued to evolve the many facets of their business to provide a progressive forward-looking future for the quality Crafts Industry within Northern Ireland.
